Keep Informed

Additionally, each month via email, you will receive links to Fun Facts (入门指导) and Classroom News (kindergarten–eighth grade) with details on some of the specific lessons and activities that will be happening in your child's classroom. These also provide helpful tips on how you can support your child with learning at home.

Important Dates

Parent Workshop (PS)

If you have a child attending Challenger 入门指导 this year, please attend our Preschool Parent Workshop, where you can learn ways to help your child develop important skills like self-reliance, reading, and self-management. This parents-only event will be held at your child's campus Thursday, August 27, from 7:00–8:00 p.m. We hope to see you there.

Evening for Parents (K–G8)

If you have a child attending kindergarten through eighth grade, please join us for Evening for Parents September 1–3. (Watch for an email invitation with the date and time of the event for your child's grade.) This parents-only event is designed to familiarize you with classroom and 游戏项目 objectives. During the evening, teachers will also describe ways you can support your child's learning.

Emergency Notification Test

In the event of an emergency, Challenger will notify parents and guardians by phone call, email, and/or text message, depending on the circumstances. If we cannot reach a parent or guardian, we will attempt to contact the listed emergency contacts. To ensure we can reach you, it is essential that your contact information in PowerSchool is always current and accurate. Whenever your phone number, email address, or other contact information changes, please update your child's Identification and Emergency 平台信息 Form in PowerSchool right away.

Please do not unsubscribe from school emails, as some critical operational information is communicated to parents only through email and not by phone or text.

To help verify emergency contact information in PowerSchool, we will be conducting a test on Saturday, September 12. Please ensure your child's identification and emergency information is updated in PowerSchool several days prior to the test. Watch your email for details and instructions.

American History Tour Parent Meeting (G8)

We are pleased to announce that we are offering an eighth-grade spring trip to visit historic sites in Boston, Philadelphia, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Watch for an invitation to a parent meeting where trip dates, cost, and other details will be presented on this valuable educational opportunity.

Managing Child Behavior Workshop (PS–G1)

Challenger teaches children to manage their behavior and make good choices. Learn how you can use the same effective methods at home!

Our Managing Child Behavior Workshop on September 15 is offered at no cost to you and is designed to help parents equip children with the self-management skills that will prepare them for a lifetime of success and happiness.

We will have helpful resources available for purchase at the event. Watch for an invitation with details.

Note: While the workshop is for adults only, childcare will be available on campus for children who meet the campus's age requirements. Cost is only $10 per child. Stop by the office today to reserve a spot for your child.

Constitution Day and Patriot Day (K–G8)

Challenger elementary students will commemorate these two special days on Thursday, September 17. As students learn to understand and respect man's unalienable rights, they begin to develop values that will help them think for themselves and cherish the liberties secured for them by the Founding Fathers.

Don't forget that the special function uniform is required for assembly days!

Student Council Elections (G5–G8)

Students in elementary and middle school will vote to select the 2026–2027 student council for their campus. Those who wish to run for student council offices should attend the student council information meeting to receive an application and details 平台简介 student council activities and responsibilities

Western Days (PS–K)

During Western Days, we explore the historic American culture of the Old West and enjoy fun activities like singing campfire songs and crafting vests! Preschool students are encouraged to come to school dressed as cowboys and cowgirls. Kindergartners may accessorize their 投注规范 with bandanas, belts, cowboy boots, and hats. Announcements

After-School Enrichment Class Offering (K–G8)

Starting in September, Challenger will offer after-school enrichment classes during extended classtime. Offerings vary by campus and are offered based on demand and availability.

To enroll, students must be in good academic standing and participation must be in the student's best interest. All classes are open to both boys and girls. There will be no additional charge beyond the cost for extended classtime for classes offered by Challenger. Additional third-party enrichment classes may be offered on a per-campus basis. Third-party classes are not taught by Challenger staff, and the cost will be payable to the third party.

This is a great opportunity for your child to experience new activities or hone existing skills.

Beginning This Year Report (PS)

The Beginning This Year Report is a great tool for tracking your child's progress. This report is sent home in late September, allowing you to gauge your 入门指导er's skill level at the beginning of the year. You will receive additional reports later in the year so you can see and celebrate your child's progress.

Campus Expansions and Improvements

We've had a busy year and summer expanding and improving some campus buildings and playgrounds as follows:

• Ardenwood, CA—added two new elementary classrooms to replace existing portables, expanded two classrooms, and renovated the elementary playground
• Everest, ID—created four additional restrooms
• Lone Mountain, NV—added a new 入门指导 room, a new field and playground, and remodeled the 入门指导 office and workroom area
• Independence, TX—completed a two-wing expansion with a new playground and track and field area

Terrapin Logo for Home Use (G1–G4)

Visit www.terrapinlogo.com/logo.html to browse options for home use of the Terrapin Logo program used in Challenger computer classes. Programming in Logo is never required as homework. Parents of first- through fourth-grade students will receive an email that contains a discount code for a household license.
